After many years working in business, I decided to train as a counsellor because I was looking for more personal fulfilment and wanted to help others. It was a big decision…but it was right for me, and I’ve never looked back.

As a counsellor I’m trained in the person-centred approach, which is a talking therapy based on the belief that creating a safe, trusting environment and counselling relationship enables people to talk openly. To experience the power of being truly heard can be empowering and I’m there to listen, empathise, never judge and help people to work through what’s bothering them. Where appropriate I also use more creative approaches to working with my counselling clients.

In my business career I experienced, first-hand, how the stresses and anxieties of life can build-up and impact. I know what it’s like to reach out for help. I did it. And when I did that, things changed for me.

As a qualified coach, I’m also able to be more flexible in my approach to working with people in the workplace and in wellbeing groups.

I’m registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means I always put the interests of my clients first and bound by its ethical framework for good practice and professional conduct. My counselling rooms are in Huddersfield and a short drive from the M62, so easily accessible to people travelling from Brighouse, Halifax, Bradford, Leeds and Manchester. I also have access to a space in Mirfield.

Right at the heart of how I work with clients is my belief that, given the right environment, everyone has the power to make changes and to grow. I’m here to support you.
