Talking to a counsellor can help you work through bottled up feelings and emotions that are affecting your overall wellbeing. It offers the time and space for you to explore and understand more about you and your upset.

You know yourself better than anyone, so I’m not here to advise or tell you what to do. Neither am I here to pass judgement. Instead I seek to create a confidential, trusting space where you feel safe and able to reflect on your life and talk things through. You do most of the talking; I listen and show you the power of being truly heard.

As a counsellor I work with adults and young people and my experience includes working in a doctors surgery offering general counselling services to referred patients and working as part of a local Sixth Form College counselling service. I’ve also worked with a cancer support charity, offering counselling to people affected by a cancer diagnosis; patients, family members, care-givers and the bereaved.

If you choose to work with me as your counsellor, my aim is for you to feel you’re walking into a calm, peaceful haven for one hour a week. This is your time. I’m disconnected from your life and you can talk to me freely and in confidence without feeling guilt or worrying about upsetting anyone. I’m there for you.

I’m a professional, BACP registered counsellor. My counselling room is in Huddersfield, close to the M62 and easily accessible from surrounding areas like Brighouse, Halifax, Leeds and Manchester.

Sessions last 50 minutes.

Standard rate is £45.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different and I have worked with people short and long term. Most people benefit from 6-10 sessions on a weekly basis, sometimes fortnightly. When we first meet, I’ll find out more about your world and the difficulties you’re facing so that I can make an assessment.

How are counselling sessions delivered?

All counselling sessions are delivered face to face and after an initial session, we usually agree to meet at the same time every week. I listen to what you want to talk about in a safe, non-judgemental space and support you to work out a way forward.


Where are counselling sessions held?

Counselling sessions are usually held in my Huddersfield-based counselling rooms. However, if the sessions are being supported by your employer there may be a suitable location at your place of work. Sometimes people like to ‘walk and talk’ and we can agree a suitable outdoor location that offers the privacy we need.
